Running an RV rental business is a great opportunity to make money. Investing your time to provide a great experience for renters is an essential part of success for you and the RVshare community. Below are guidelines that all owners on RVshare must follow when conducting business with renters.
Reservation Commitment
A professional booking experience means you honor your availability calendar and try never to cancel reservations.
- Calendar Availability- Your availability calendar should always be updated. This ensures any booking request or booking can be honored. More information
- Booking Acceptance – We understand sometimes a potential booking is not a good fit (your rental rules should include the reasons why ex. no pets, no festivals, etc.) but with an accurate calendar, you should be accepting almost all booking requests. More information
- Expirations – A booking request should never expire. You have 24 hours to accept or decline a booking request. Try to do this within a few hours at the most. More information
- Cancellations- Cancellations should be avoided at all costs. Cancellations negatively affect a renter’s experience and impact your sort ranking. More information
Timely Communication
Prompt replies to messages and booking requests are imperative for a good renter experience.
- Prompt responses – All initial messages from potential renters should be responded to within an hour, with a maximum of 24 hours.
- Always reply – A reply is always required. All inquiries and booking requests should be responded to by answering questions or confirming bookings.
- Trip communications – you should be available during your renter’s trip to answer questions or help resolve issues.
General Rules

This does not include use-based or optional fees like extra cleaning or early check-in.
- Listing Accuracy- your listing description and photos should accurately reflect the current condition of your RV. Should something change, your listing photos should reflect that change.
- General communications – All owners are expected to follow our Respectful Community Policy
- On-platform payments – All bookings should occur on the RVshare platform to ensure the payment, renter, owner, and RV are all protected. Learn more.
- Fees- Any fees charged to renters should be reasonable and you must be able to provide evidence of the cost if requested
